like I always say

don't vote straight. NEVER vote straight unless you firmly, truly believe that everyone on the slate is worth it
vote for the candidate, the person. because in the end, even though his/her political party is a large influence, he/she would call the shots for his/her constituents
also, vote only if you truly and firmly believe in that person. don't be swayed by "huy iboto mo si ___" or "pre, boto mo naman si ___". make sure that whoever you're voting, you really believe in. don't be a puppet - call your own shots.

the first and foremost thing that a researcher does before he/she does anything is to obtain the informed consent of his/her participants
no informed consent = no experiment/field research/interview/whatever
the logic behind this is that you just don't get his/her consent, as in force him/her to agree or not. you get the participant's informed consent, which means you explain thoroughly what it is and what will be done and what probable effects it may have. in the end, after all the explanation, it's still up to the participant to decide (rationally, hopefully) if it's ok.

the problem is, for the past few days, we've been bombarded with a ton of "vote yes to the CRSRS" and "vote no to the CRSRS" without giving the students right information. I don't mean that they lie, it's just that some of their statements are a bit biased skewed, which doesn't give us the proper picture, which doesn't give us enough information to make an informed consent (feeling ko nga mga half lang talaga may alam ng nangyayari, and of those, konti lang yung may pakialam). and without our informed consent, we'd be just like puppets - forced to do something without us really knowing what it's about.

if I were you, next week, I'd make my informed consent. the Codified Rules for Student Regent Selection are posted at the AS lobby (and hopefully, around most of the colleges). Go through it, scrutinize it, and then ask around why you should vote yes or no. and if possible, get both sides of the story (informed consent nga eh). don't get pushed around.

and in the end, I'm not pushing for a yes or a no vote (obvious ba?). I'm urging you to make the right choice.

1. Ano ang student number mo? Gusto mo ba ito?
--> 2006-09594. oks lang, kasi madali tandaan. at madali i-derive yung student numbers ng ibang aboys haha

2. Magbigay ka ng tatlong course sa UP Diliman na hindi mo talaga alam kung ano ang pinag-aaralan nila. Pwedeng magbigay ng rason kung bakit.
--> community nutrition (sori eps), population institute (um... nagbibilang ng populasyon?), lingguistics (nagdederive ng language? haha)

3. Meron ka bang araw na wala kang break? Anung technique ang ginagawa mo para makakain ka?
--> wala, boy break ako eh. lagi akong may break, maikli man (1 1/2 hrs) o mahaba (4hrs XD). pero pag nagutom ako between bio lec and lab, bitso-bitso to the rescue!

4. Alam mo ba kung saan ang Teletubby Land? [Yung totoo, bawal bumase sa pinagkuhanan ng survey na ito]
--> ... eh? sori, huli ako sa UP slang hahaha

5. Nakakita ka na ba ng nagpi-PDA? Sa AS? As in sa AS Entrance? In Broad Daylight? In front of many people? Ikaw ba yung gumagawa nun?
--> surprisingly, wala pa akong nakita sa AS. laging nasa Phan si Legend eh hahaha (let's make love...). oh, and madalas din pala sa Math nung Math 100 days namin, at after nung Math 17 finals (hindi broad daylight, kasi walang liwanag sa Math. literally and figuratively). ay! sina *toot* pala yun hahaha

6. Naranasan mo na bang dumaan sa Beta Way? Kahit madilim na?
--> nope. dumadaan lang ako dun pag may araw (galing duckpin bowling), at hindi na ko dumadaan dun ever since nirerecruit ako ng certain friend ko (na walang kinalaman, kasi wala akong reason to pass through Beta Way haha)

7. Alam mo ba na may 4th Floor ang FC?
--> Alam ko lang may madilim na stairs paakyat, pero ndi ko alam kung ano meron sa taas nun. tamad ako i-check eh haha

8. Within the UP Campus, ano na ang pinakamalayo mong nalakad?
--> within? alumni center to phan siguro. or to math, ndi ko lang sure. longest lakad is a tie between "The Cage" (yung court sa may balara) to phan and Mcdo T.Sora to Phan. pahamak na phan yan hahaha

9. Meal?
--> Ha?

10. Sa tingin mo, bakit concealed ang profs sa Math?
--> for more excitement!

11. Nakakuha ka na ba ng Math prof na out-of-this-world?
--> um... dalawa lang math subjs ko, at palagay ko ndi sila out of this world haha. (unless you count sir Harris, na nagbigay ng freecut kasi nanood siya ng Finals ng NBA haha)

12. Natatakot ka ba sa tumutunog na kuryente sa tabi ng EEE building?
--> Actually! Delikado ba 'yun? Pero recently ndi ko na napapansin haha. part na ng ambient noise, kasama ng maiingay na jeep at nagdadaldalan na class haa


13. Ilang individual libraries na ang napuntahan mo within Up Diliman? Isa-isahin.
--> AVE (Phan), CAL, CS, SURP (hindi pa kayo nakakapasok dito, noh!), CHK, Educ, Econ

14. Nakanood ka na ba ng Oblation Run? At namukhaan na isa doon ay kaklase mo?
--> Yep! at inabangan pa namin hahaha. pero wala akong namukhaan, buti naman haha

15. Nakakita ka na ba ng Atenean na nakatambay sa UP Campus? At naki-sit in sa klase niyo?
--> Si Tarog! 1st day sa Psych 101! hahaha so memorable

16. Nakakita ka na ba ng artista na nag-aaral sa UP? Saan?
--> aside kay Missy... wala eh. ndi kilala yung mga artista eh haha

17. Sa tingin mo, ano ang pinakamahirap na subject sa UP?
--> Bio11! murder si Amparado, mehn!

18. Alam mo ba na tumutunog ang Carillon?
--> kapapalit lang nila ng bells, so I guess so.

19. Nakapasok ka na ba sa College of Music? Kwento mo naman.
--> two times, at parehong dahil sa Atenista haha. Nung may binayarang thingy si Berba (for a class ata or something) at nung nag-inquire si gab about extramural classes (and probably his FRESHest day in UP. haha)

20. Nagpapic ka na kay Oble? Kung oo, confident ka ba na gagraduate ka?
--> nope. layo eh, at hindi ako mahilig magpapicture. pero ilang beses na ko napadaan.

21. May College Shirt ka ba? Anu design?
--> wala, puros Psych (at Pugad) shirts lang. unless you count the "CSSP Freshie Circle" shirt! woohoo!

22. Naranasan mo na bang mag 1vs100 sa CRS?
--> 1vs1000 baby! ultimate (frisbee)!

23. Naglalaro ka ba ng Guess the Course/Spot that Freshie kapag wala kang magawa habang tumatambay sa AS? Isinasabay mo ba ang Girl/Boy Hunting sa larong ito?
--> wala, ndi ako totoy noh XD. girl hunting lang, kasama yung "Cool Boys" ng math100 class ko haha (don't blame me, si sir harris nagpangalan sa amin. kami lang kasi ni monci at lex yung lalaki dun haha)

24. Nangungulekta ka ba ng Kule? Ano ang favorite section mo dito?
--> sori, don't read kule

25. Sino ang pinakastriktong guard sa UP na nakilala mo? Yung hindi mo talaga matakasan na wala kang ID?
--> Si bwisit-guard-na-biglang-pumalit-kay-mang-collins-nung-isang-araw-at-nairita-yung-buong-phan! putangina! traumatizing! hanggang ngayon asar pa rin ako sa kanya ><

26. Nakukulangan ka pa ba sa ruta ng Ikot at Toki Jeep? Anung gusto mong ibahin sa ruta nito?
--> SC/Econ to Phan. useless kasi yung katips jeep na hanggang Vinzon's lang eh haha

27. Natatakot ka ba sa mga tingin ng mga nangangampanya tuwing Elections? Bakit?
--> Hindi naman. smile and wave, boys. smile and wave.

28. May bura ka na ba sa Form 5 mo? Anu yon?
--> nope! kahit pangit sulat ko, malinis form 5 ko! haha. ay wait, isa ata. kasi ndi ko alam pano ilagay ang bio lec/lab sa form 5, kaya dumumi siya haha. plus, nausog lahat pababa (pati yung mga sa carbon copies)

29. Nagkaprof ka na ba na laging wala sa klase tapos tinadtad kayo ng make-up classes sa end ng sem? Sino?
--> meron akong prof laging late, pero wala na laging absent haha.

30. Alam mo ba kung saan ginagawa ang Blue Book? Gusto mo bang magventure sa business na ito?
--> ndi eh, pero oks sigurong business ito. monopolize!
